How Simply Wild was born…
Chilli! My name is Shaun and my earliest memory of experimenting with this uniquely satisfying, globally appreciated product was at the age of 18.On these pages you will find many bottles of my uniquely flavoured sauces. This burning desire, to bottle my own chilli, has been with me for 26 years. Yes 26 years of sitting on the fence. I finally took a chance, and started bottling my unique sauces.
Why Simply Wild you ask? Simply Wild was a name I vivified a few ago, when I wanted to write a recipe book on wild game meat, whilst working for a private game lodge in the Kruger National Park. The book would have been named Simply Wild Cooking.The book never materialized, however Simply Wild Chillies was born. Over the next few years Simply Wild Chillies would undergo changes to its recipes, packaging and labeling, it would grow from one product into many varieties of bottled chilli sauces, pesto`s, mayo`s and chutney`s. Today, Simply Wild Chillies has expanded and undergone another name change to expand its range, and is known as Simply Wild Sauces. In December 2016 we purchased a food trailer and proudly named it “Meat MyKitchen”. The journey so far has been challenging at times but very exciting and rewarding!
Our company is based in Muldersdrift in Gauteng .You will find us at “The Stall” night markets at Cradlestone Mall (1st Thursday of the month), Southdowns (last Thursday of the month) and Cedar Square (3rd Thursday of the month), market hours are from 5pm – 9pm. We are also at the Irene @ Smuts market (www.ireneatsmuts.co.za) which is open every 2nd and last Saturday of the month.
Today, I leave you with this thought; more than a ¼ of the world consume chilli every day, and the numbers are ever rising; will you be the next number?
